    Description

    RARE Antique EAPG "Bellflower" Flint, Open Compote- Light Lavender Tint
    Up for "Buy It Now" option, we are bringing you a rare antique Boston & Sandwhich "Bellflower" Open Compote in stunning condition. This is a Flint glass piece and unlike other exact compotes from the same manufacturer, this is one of a handful that has a light tint of lavender in the glass. Ive done some research and it is the result of the prescense of Manganese when the glass is heated and I haven't yet found any other examples of this exact compote being sold with this same tint as all ive found are purely clear. This compote can be found in either "Super" 10"-12", Large 8", or Small 7" & under. This piece is classified as the Large Bellflower, Open.
    This compote is in AMAZING condition!! As you can see in the photos, the only things stopping it from being labeled as close to perfect are a couple of manufacturing defects that you likely wouldn't notice without very close inspection. One being a small bead of excess glass that was never sanded down and appears on the top, scalloped rim and to be honest, it adds character. The only other defect will be an almost uniform small wavy striation found close to the middle of the bowl and is very light. Even though these dont take away much value if any, we have decided to sell this at a huge bargain!! Refer to the photos for inspection.
