Description
RARE EARLY CAMBRIDGE GLASS # 671 - 1 Oz. PRESSED GOLD DECORATED CRYSTAL CORDIALFor the cordial collector we have an early pressed glass cordial made by the Cambridge Glass Company formerly of Cambridge, Ohio.
An area around the top rim had been decorated with gold trim.
The pattern number assigned by Cambridge Glass for this line was # 671.
The bowl holds approximately 1 ounce of liquid.
This piece has been in my personal collection since 1986.
A beautiful example!
This same cordial is pictured on page 93 of the reprint book of the
1903 Catalog of Pressed and Blown Glass Ware Manufactured By The Cambridge Glass Co.
by Harold and Judy Bennett published in 1976.
I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.
Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.
However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.
I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.
Age and Condition
Circa 1903.
It is in very good condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, scratches, repairs, hairlines or cracks.
I do see some slight wear to the gold trim on the top rim.
There is also some very minor roughness (in the form of a few very tiny flea bites visible with the aid of a loupe) to the underside of the foot and to the top edge of the pattern around the bowl.
There is an bubble in the glass near the edge of the foot that can be seen in the photo; this is a common factory blemish in hand-made glass of this era.
Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
Approximate Dimensions
The bowl is about 1.625” (4.1 cm) in diameter and the cordial sits about 3.125” (7.9 cm) off the table.
Approximate Weight
About 1.875 ounces (54 grams).
SALES TAX
I am required to charge 6.5% Ohio State Sales Tax on all purchases shipped to an address within the State of Ohio.
