    Description

    New England Glass Co EAPG Flint Glass Mitre Diamond Large Covered Compote
    Large, heavy antique covered compote. Also known as early sawtooth, the body is covered in pyramid shaped diamonds, with a sawtooth edge. Made of flint glass, an early version of crystal. Introduced in the 1860s. Very hard to find pattern in excellent condition.
    Condition:  There is a tiny nick on the seam of the lid finial which may be factory, and a few minor nicks/flakes on the lid rim points. There are no chips on the bowl, and the glass is in very good condition with almost no wear.
    Marks:  Unmarked.
    Dimensions:  Bowl: 7 3/4" high, 8 1/2" wide. Lid: 4 1/2" high, 8 1/2" wide. Total height 12".
