Description

Hairpin open Compote Flint Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, Sandwich MA. Circa 1850. The glass is clear and any colors you see in the photographs are reflections from indoors where I photographed the piece.
The compote has the mold marks and straw marks and bubbles common in this era of glassware. Color and clarity are fine, No chips or cracks. There is a piece of undissolved mix in the bowl. A glass wafer was used to connect the bowl to the base. Rings bell tone when tapped and very minor mold roughness inside base. The Diameter 7 7/8” and height 4 5/8”.
