This is a custom made all carbon fiber scoop strainer. It is laid up with epoxy resin and five layers of six ounce carbon fiber and a single three ounce layer on the inside. The outside dimensions are five inches long by almost four inches wide. The inside dimensions are almost two inches wide and almost three inches long.
I did not drill screw holes but that can easily be done. This scoop can also be installed with epoxy, essentially glued onto the boat - no fasteners and nothing to corrode ever.
Being thick carbon fiber this scoop strainer is very stiff and incredibly strong but still weighs just 1.3 ounces.
I built a boat last year and have had fantastic success with these custom made scoop strainers, thought I’d pass this one on.
