The auction offers an Antique Sandwich Glass "BUNKER HILL" Flint Glass Cup Plate, LR 642A, Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1845 - 1860. This is an early American Historical flint glass cup plate made to commemorate the American Revolution. This "Bunker Hill" cup plate is Lee-Rose #642A. The "Bunker Hill" cup plate has one line of text around the shoulder that reads, "CORNER STONE LAID BY LAFAYETTE, JUNE 17, 1825. FINISHED BY THE LADIES, 1841." There are also two lnes of text near the Bunker Hill monument in the center. These lines read, "BUNKER HILL BATTLE FOUGHT JUNE 1, 1775. FROM THE FAIR TO THE BRAVE." I offer this early flint glass Sandwich "Bunker Hill" cup plate with a Buy It Now. This comes from a collector who kept meticulous records for each cup plate purchased. This cup plate was purchased at the Atlanta Flea Market on January 2001, for . SIZE: The cup plate measures 7/16" H. x 3 7/16" Dia. CONDITION: The cup plate is in very good condition with some nicks to the scallops on the rim, and some roughness there as well. The flint glass dish does exhibit the manufacturing flaws prevalent in early flint glass. This includes; straw marks, sand and bubbles in the glass, and minor mold imperfections.
